Spread is an independent publication focusing on the counter cultural, from art, design, fashion, photography, illustration and moving image. Started by Fashion director Sam Ranger, photographer Ben Parks and Art Director Daryl Higgins, the quarterly zine maintains a defined ethos of delivering contemporary content, changing themes throughout its volumes, creating something to be cherished, collected and tactile in a digital landscape.
For Issue 01, Skate, we commissioned French director Simon Landrein, one half of McBess and Simon, to create something in his unique signature style.
He took up the challenge with two fantastic animations and a comic entitled “The Other Day” with music from McBess’ alter ego McBaise.
